Chupa Chups

Candy with a stick. In 1958, Spanish confectioner Enric Bernat developed a candy that would delight children and adults alike. Bernat's mother was the inspiration behind it. She no longer wanted to see sticky children's fingers on her clothes. Moreover, the candies on offer were always much too large for children. Therefore, the sweets had to be child-friendly. Bernat formed small sugar balls and first placed them on a fork – later on a wooden stick. And so the lollipop was born, which from then on was available in various flavors under the catchy name "Chups" (from the Spanish "chupar" = to suck).
It was the Spanish artist Salvador Dalí, known for his surrealist style, who added the outline of a daisy to the lettering. The logo was complete. Today, Chupa Chups is the epitome of lollipops in every imaginable size, shape, creation, and flavor.
