Hans Riegel, founder of Haribo in Bonn, began his career as a candy maker. The company, founded after the First World War, started with a sack of sugar. The first "production facility" was equipped with a marble slab, a stool, a brick stove, a copper kettle, and a roller. In 1922, Hans Riegel invented the "Dancing Bear," a fruit gum bear figure that later became world-famous as the Haribo Gold Bear.
Today, every child knows the Haribo classics, such as Haribo Gold Bears, Haribo Smurfs, or Haribo Liquorice Swirls. We carry a huge, international Haribo range, including Haribo Fruit Gum, Haribo Liquorice, Haribo Marshmallows, and Haribo Candies. Among Haribo connoisseurs, creations from Haribo Denmark, for example, are very popular.
